Thanks to Sponsors, Committee and Volunteers for a successful
33rd Annual PCA Golf Tournament. One addition this year was helping the First Tee of Alaska raise money to support youth golfers in the community.

The First Tee of Alaska enrolls young people between the ages of 8-18 and teaches life skills through the game of golf. The young people learn to play golf while acquiring values such as responsibility, judgment, and perseverance, values that will benefit them throughout their lives. Their fundraiser on Moose Run Hole #2 raised $2100.

Additionally, the Golf Committee Volunteers donated all of their tips to the First Tee. Thanks to all for the generosity in helping the First Tee.

Thanks to our Volunteers!
Extra special kudos to all the volunteers who showed up as promised, despite having to deal with the coldest and wettest weather in anyone’s memory, and worked their full shifts. They really deserve our gratitude as we could not have done this without them:

Click Here for sign up form!

It’s summertime and the fish are jumpin’! The PCA is pleased to
announce the 6th Annual PCA Sports Fishing Tournment,
beginning May 27th and going through to October 2nd. There
will be five categories:
1. King
2. Silver
3. Red
4. Halibut
5. Rainbow Trout

Members can sign up for individual fish categories at $15
each or for all 5 categories for $50. Sign up sheets are included as an insert with this issue of the Pipeline, as well as being available online and on the club bulletin board. When you sign up, you’ll receive a fish card
for the various fish categories selected. Results, awards and prizes will be presented at the fishing tournament ceremony following the competition.
Remember: your tournament card has to be present in the
photograph for your entry to count, so sign up now before you get out there for the summer!

Determining your fish’s weight:

By popular request, we’re re-running the formula for determining
the weight of your catch when you’re out on a remote stream
without benefit of scales:

Measure the length of the fish from tip of the nose to the fork of the
tail (not the tip) then around the girth of the fish in the front of the
pectoral fins. Next, square the girth and multiply that number by
the length.
Then divide by 800. The formula:
Weight = (Girth2 x Length) / 800
Example: Girth = 12 inches
Length = 30 inches
Weight = (122 x 30) / 800 = 5.4 pounds
